Grade 5: Mrs Kilhefner
1. Grade 5: Mrs Kilhefner
This was 1966-1967.
I had been collecting a lot of things and newspaper articles on Presidents. I won 1st place (for my grade) at the Rheems hobby show that year. I later expanded on that collection of newspaper clippings, etc., and used it in 8th grade history class - on government, etc.
I had started doing color pencil drawing of soldiers in 3rd grade, and continued this for many years. I found some examples in the encyclopedia, some in history books, etc. I had a lot of these drawings and the teacher put them on a large piece of white cardboard and displayed them on the bulletin board for a long time during the school year. I still have that white cardboard with the drawings on them. Many of the drawings were done on scratch paper that had on the other side old menus for the cafeteria.
I did not like choir so a few of us did not have to go and did things in the classroom late in the day when the others were at choir.
