1. Grade 6: Miss Longenecker
This was 1967-1968.

Miss Longenecker was principle and 6th grade teacher.

Mrs. Longenecker (no relation) was the secretary, so one had to distinguish between the two.

Late in the spring every year, they would have a day when there were baseball games (using a tennis ball or something not so hard). I never played, but this year, I think, my finger got pinched in the backstop which was quite painful for a while.

Late in 5th grade or early in 6th grade I found a book on the United States Military Academy at West Point in the library. I had been reading a lot of history and decided I wanted to go there. I ended up going there as a cadet, graduating, and serving in the Army.
